Paige Comstock Cunningham Appointed Taylor’s Interim President

Taylor University named Michael D. Hammond, dean of the School of Humanities, Art and Biblical Studies to replace outgoing Provost Jeff Moshier effective June 1. Moshier’s most rewarding experience as provost has been recruiting new faculty and helping equip them for their ministry roles. As of this year, Moshier will have recruited 67 faculty members. Moshier and President P Lowell Haines have been helping prepare Hammond for his new role as provost. “Dr. Hammond is a wonderful colleague,” Moshier said. “I was thrilled to recruit him back to Taylor…I think God has been preparing him for this role for his entire life.” Hammond holds the B.A. from Taylor, M.A. from Wheaton, and Ph.D. from University of Arkansas. He hopes to harmonize academics and discipleship and prioritize servant leadership. Michael and his wife Jen have six children.
